DAY FOUR

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now. Day Two: Nine things about yourself. Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart. Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot. Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done. Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever) Day Seven: Four turn offs. Day Eight: Three turn ons. Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now. Day Ten: One confession.

  1. I wish I could read minds. And sometimes I wonder whether other people can read my mind (because at times it certainly feels that way).
  2. What will happen in the future? Am I one day going to reach my foremost goals in life (in particular my artistic pursuits)?
  3. Food, simply.
  4. I like to observe passers-by and make guesses of what kind of people they are and where they are going.
  5. Why in the world is facebook so incredibly addicting?
  6. How come people like the way coffee tastes? I really don't understand.
  7. Where from to find the motivation to study...

Greetings dear readers! Just returned form Tallinn last night feeling totally ecstatic yet at the same time utterly exhausted and feet hurting like hell. Though it was only a two-day trip it felt like a whole week! Above is only a fraction of the photos I took during our stay. Despite a little adversity (when we were about to leave for the harbor discovering that someone had broken into our minibus and smashed one of its windows) everything went well. I feel like last week was one of the best ones I’ve had in a very long time. Besides the trip to Tallinn, last thursday was also pleasantly surprising. It started off like a typical thursday morning. Me half sleeping during history class (it's always like that on thursdays, since my wednesdays are pretty exhausting). Then all of a sudden right in the middle of my daydreams I startle when my friend starts poking me. She points at the loudspeakers and I hear our names being announced. The voice also requests us to come to the Swedish classroom as soon as possible. At that point we really had no idea what it could be about. Well, turned out our Swedish and English teachers had heard of our victory in the Creative Wheels contest (btw here is clean proof that there indeed is a lot of gossiping going on in the teachers' room). They had an assignment for us, one that we'd even get paid for. We had to make a video for this project called Comenius. Naturally I was up for it! So on the shooting day I was very happy to wake up and see sunbeams streaming through my curtains. It was perfect since we were going to film outside. I swear I was smiling (without a doubt looking like a total idiot) the whole time as I made my way to school. But I was feeling so good, that I just couldn't hide it! Hell, I didn't even want to hide it! Ultimately we had a lot of fun with the shooting and it all went smoothly. Now all that's left is the editing part and I might even be able to show it to you when it gets published. But that wont be until someday next week.

RANDOM

KNIT - INDISKA    |    TOP - GT    |    PURSE - THRIFTED

At the moment I'm so hyped for the trip to Tallinn that we're going to make next Sunday! About a month ago Johanna, Emilia, Aija and I made this short film for art class that also entered a contest called Luovat Rattaat (translation: Creative Wheels). We didn't think much of it and our expectations weren't high at all. The fact that our work would be taking part in a contest was really just a side note. Well, little did we know that in the end our contribution would actually win the whole fricking contest! What this meant was receiving a prize of 200 euros and a two-day trip to motherfucking Tallinn. How awesome is that?!

Moving on, yet again I find myself addicted to yet another book! I've been reading all day long and I'm afraid I'm starting to turn into a bookworm. Well, not really, but I have been reading a lot more than usual. And I guess it's ok, I mean of course reading is great giving general education and all that, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I personally don't believe that constantly having your nose in a book is healthy because, lets face it, it's a bit like living in a fantasy world. For example, there's this one guy at my school who reads all the time - and when I say all the time I literally mean it. He's always got his nose in a book and even during classes, rather than following, he reads some 1000 page (and I'm not even exaggerating) book about Finnish history. Not that he'd even need to attend those classes, since it seems like he knows the answer to about every question. Yeah, I'd describe him as a real live walking reference book. And unfortunately incredibly annoying. Sure, I have to admit that I admire his great knowledge (that he has gained from presumably reading a ton of books) but he's also a very arrogant person, and that on the other hand isn't admirable at all. I mean just because you know a lot of stuff it doesn't mean you're better than everybody else, stay humble, goddammit! And on top of all he's got a twin brother. Their similarity (both inside and outside) is very disturbing...

Hmm, what else... I saw the first bee of this year! Not that I like them, quite the opposite actually, but at this point I'm pathetically desperate for summer to come and any sign of it is more than welcome! Hope all of this babbling about random stuff didn't bore you to death. And btw, I know I should be moving on to day 3 in the challenge (which I had almost forgotten about completely), but I'm going to leave it to the next post. Peace out!

BROTHER

VIDEO: SARA LEHTOMAA

I was slightly bored today so I decided to finally execute this idea that I had had for quite some time now. That idea I had was making a video of my dear brother. And it came out pretty good, even if I say so myself. These clips are from last summer from our trip to Stockholm. Don't they just make you crave for summer (if you don't already live in a country where summer lasts 365 days, of course)?

WHAT IS UP

So before moving on to day four in that ten-day-challenge I took up, I decided I want to write something else for a change! For instance what's been going on. Well, firstly there has been a lot, I repeat a lot of studying. Today I had my history exam and it went okay (considering my main goal was to actually pass the test). Yep, not a big history fan...but luckily the dreaded exam week is now finally over. And according to my calculations summer frickin holiday is in two months! Ironically there's still snow on the ground here in Finland (have I ever mentioned how much I hate winter?). But no matter how much I hate snow and cold weather, right now, nothing can bring me down! I am so excited and can't wait for summer to come! Here are some of the things I'm definitely gonna do during the holidays:

  1. Get a summer job and make some extra cash.
  2. Spend long days lying on the beach under the warming sun.
  3. Hang out with friends.
  4. Shop (obviously).
  5. Travel to my other home, Stockholm and visit Södermalm, my favorite place in the capital! If you happen to be into vintage and second hand shops and ever go to Stockholm I highly recommend you to visit Södermalm.
  6. Eat lots and lots of ice cream.

Now, about the pictures above: I've been reading this hilarious Swedish book, which I haven't finished yet (exam week kind of interrupted my reading so I'm happy to be able to continue from this day on). I also haven't had time to draw during exam week. The drawing above is something I drew a week ago. Thought it'd be nice to show you since I haven't done that before. What's up with you guys? Have you made any plans for your summer holiday yet? Oh, and btw, thank you so so much for all of your sweet comments and also for following me! You have no idea how much it means to me!

DAY THREE

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now. Day Two: Nine things about yourself. Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart. Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot. Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done. Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever) Day Seven: Four turn offs. Day Eight: Three turn ons. Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now. Day Ten: One confession.

  1. Like the same things I like - sharing an interest is a good start and will make it easier for us to get to know each other.
  2. When I'm feeling blue, be there. Knowing how to cheer me up, say the right things and make me laugh is highly appreciated.
  3. Sing me a love song (just kidding, but it would be kinda fun, though :D)
  4. Make me feel special.
  5. Knowing that I can rely on you is important.
  6. Share your secrets and dreams with me.
  7. Have an open mind.
  8. Blue bright eyes are always a bonus.
